My father kissing my youngest brother.
To those who say, "police men are heartless pigs who care nothing about me or my freedom" I am here to tell you other wise.
My father risks his life everyday just so you CAN HAVE your freedoms!
He leaves for work never knowing what awaits him just so you can live happily and safely in America.
Just a few weeks ago, two officers were shot while transporting a man to jail.
The man in custody managed to slip out of his handcuffs, pull out a concealed weapon, and shoot both officers. Only one survived.
The suspect then broke out of the car and managed to shoot and injure one more officer before being fatally shot.
This happened extremely close to where I live.
Last year, I was in first period history class and my teacher, who knows what my father does, started calling every police officer racist just because they pull over Hispanics and ask for their papers.
I started crying then and there. For one, my father is NOT racist and he pulls over ANYONE white, black, brown, whatever color of their skin, if he has reasonable cause. And secondly, it kills me to live in a such a disgraceful place that dares to put itself above everyone else when it can't even respect those who protect it.
My father is one of the kindest and levelheaded people you can meet and if you don't want the police to exist, then I say they shouldn't. We should let you deal with your own problems and allow serial killers, thieves, and rapists to run free and do as they please.
So to all those who would love to put a bullet through every officer's skull, I say, damn you and rot in hell.

It's good that your proud of your father, the police officers put their lives on the line everyday to help keep everday Americans safe. I'm too apalled at people who say that all police officers want nothing more than deny people their basic rights or are racist pigs. Just because the police were used to enforce racist institutions in the past doesn't mean that they're all racists now, and I like the people who diss cops so bad try to do their job.
